Kitzsteinhorn
Ski in - Ski out to the glacier

Snow and ice all year round! At 3,203 m high, the glacier can be easily reached by cable car almost all year round. At 3,029 m you will find a viewing platform, called "Top of Salzburg". From the summit station, the 362-metre-long Glückauf-Hanna Tunnel leads to a second viewing platform with a view of the Hohe Tauern National Park. During the ski season, you can enjoy a ski resort with around 60 perfectly groomed kilometres of slopes

And the best thing of all:
The slope right behind the house -  Ski In - Ski Out to/from the Maiskogel ski resort and the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier.

Do you also want to visit other ski resorts? Then take the "Alpin-Card"! In addition to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, it can also be used for the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and the "Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn". A total of 408 kilometres of slopes and 121 modern lifts! All with just 1 ski pass!

Skiing for families and beginners

There are 2 lifts in Kaprun that are ideal for beginners and families with small children:

  1. The comfortable, flat runs of Lechnerberg right in the centre of Kaprun. A platter lift takes young and old winter sports enthusiasts to the start of the beginner slopes at Lechnerberg. In the separated children's area, the little ones make their first attempts at skiing in the snow.
  2. Maiskogel is the ideal ski resort for families, leisurely winter sports enthusiasts and beginners. On the outskirts of Kaprun, families and enthusiasts can reach the Maiskogel ski resort using state-of-the-art lifts. In the Maisi Park, young skiers can make their first freestyle attempts over mini obstacles and small jumps. Wide slopes provide a great overview, and a gentle practice slope with a platter lift offers ideal terrain for beginners.

Cross-country skiing

107 km of groomed trails in the Kaprun Region alone invite classic cross-country skiiers and skaters alike to explore the area. Enjoy nature or race against time. Go cross-country skiing or try your hand at biathlon at the guest shooting range in Hochfilzen (only a 30-minute drive away).

You can also continue cross-country skiing, skating in the Oberpinzgau region, in neighbouring Tyrol, or use the 200 km of cross-country trails of the  Saalach Valley in the region of Salzburg to Bavaria.

Aprés ski

After a "hard" day on the slope, you deserve some aprés ski. Various ski huts, umbrella bars and restaurants invite you to treat yourself to one or more tipples

Music, ambience and fun are a good basis for getting to know locals and other holidaymakers.
